Frequently asked questions

My UFH system uses 12mm pipe, does this suit that?

Yes, this one's grooved for 12mm pipe at 150mm centres. Good fit if your manifold and pipe runs are already specified for 12mm, which tends to come up in smaller zones or certain packaged kits. If your system uses 16mm pipe you'd want the 16mm version of this board instead.

Size, strength, coverage?

1200mm x 600mm x 20mm, 0.72 m² per board. 300 kPa XPS core with cement-coated faces on both sides. Grooved for 12mm pipe at 150mm centres with radius returns. Tiles or wood flooring go straight on top, no overlay needed for standard finishes.

Is installation any different to the 16mm version?

Same process throughout. Fixings into timber, S1 adhesive onto concrete. The groove is just sized for 12mm pipe rather than 16mm, so double-check your pipe diameter before you start cutting. Easy thing to mix up when ordering across a multi-zone project.

When would I reach for the 12mm version over the 16mm?

When your system is already designed around 12mm pipe. Smaller zones, utility rooms, single-room retrofits, or projects where the kit supplied comes with 12mm throughout. At 150mm centres it works fine as a primary heat source in well-insulated rooms. If you're not sure which pipe size your project needs, check the manifold spec first or give us a call.

Should I be ordering 12mm or 16mm for my project?

Go with what your system design specifies. 16mm is the more common choice for standard residential systems and has slightly lower flow resistance on longer runs. 12mm comes up in smaller zones or where the kit uses it throughout. If you're starting from scratch and haven't committed to a pipe size yet, talk to us before ordering boards.

To collect your order, please email us at sales@theufhgroup.co.uk with your contact details, along with the products and quantities you require. Our team will review your email and respond with a secure payment link. For your security, we do not process payments over the phone. Once payment is received, your order will be processed, and our team will notify you when it’s ready for collection.


  • Delivery charges will automatically be calculated within the checkout process.
